Sat 4th April, 2009: Greenies alumnus Mark Colless spotted bowling "quicker than ever" Down Under. Here's the match report:

Boys,

Supported a pretty ordinary head on Sunday morning, but it was well worth it. Well done to everyone on our (un?)remarkable victory against Trinity. For those that haven’t heard we bowled Trinity out for 86, were 0 –50 in reply and limped to 87 with a loss of 7 further wickets. Highlights for me were:

Crespi bowling superbly with figures of 3 – 12 off 10
Colless bowled quicker than he has all season and also ended up with 3 scalps.
Lloydie’s catch on the boundary to get their best bat started the biggest cheer on the day
Rosie realising he’d left his bat in his living room as he was walking out to face.
The Skip shouldering up to his second delivery to get clean bowled (ok, he did clean bowl me.)
Mearesy carrying his bat as the mayhem of wickets fell around him.
Hickman snoozing through most of our innings (yep – photos to prove it shortly.)

But for me, Ang’s post match performance and dribble in The Royal, and Crespi’s beautiful XXXX bikini will go down in cricketing folklore.

In signing off as skipper for 2009 all I can say is that I have enjoyed my time, had a ball shuffling you round the field on sat, but most of all I’m relieved that we took the gong home this year. It’s all I have thought about for 12 months.
