Greenies had a comfortable 7 wicket victory against Paramount on a stinking hot day at Smith Rd yesterday. The skip lost the toss for the 4th time in a row & Paramount elected to bat first but they were quickly on the back foot. Josh & Ledge blasted through there top order & at one stage they were 5-26. Paramount curiously batted their best 3 batsman at 6, 7 & 8 and once the shine was off the new ball, batting conditions were perfect. Dino was in fine touch playing some classy square drives off Josh. However, shortly after drinks he threw his wicket away hitting Faisal straight to Ledge at cow corner. Watson & Bryan also scored 20 odd each. Josh & Watto cleaned up the trail. Josh 5-46 is bowling very fast & straight. The run chase was fairly uneventful, Rotsey batted well to finish 61 n.o. Tommy out for 21 trying to finish the game in 6s.

MOTM - Josh with a five for. Rotsey an admirable 2nd.
POTD - a straight drive from me but should have been Ledge's caught & bowled from his slower ball or Watto's 2 wickets in an over to finish the innings & get us out of the ridiculous heat.
COTD - Carey - 2 dropped catches, didn't bat, didn't bowl.
Spectator of the day - Tex arrived in the morning to check the score wearing the same clothes that he had left Smith Rd in the previous night. Stayed for the day.

With the game wrapped up by 3:30, the rather large but pleasant fine bottle prepared by Nick was enjoyed by all. The party moved on to Stingers where we all got Watto'd.  Carey performed a very dramatic Haka for the lucky guests at the bar, Josh was entertaining a couple of young female cricket enthusiasts & Nevels was last seen walking down West Bay Road belting out a few of his favorite songs. These early finishes aren't good for Monday morning productivity.
