Scorecard
Well, Super
Sunday, the Dream, whatever we built it up as became a nightmare at JPO on
Sunday. We got stuffed by Prison by 188 runs. Winning the toss, we elected to
field first & hope that a bowlers could dominate as they have done all year.
The plan worked well for a while. All the bowlers started well, Ledge the most
impressive taking 2-18 in his first 5 over spell. We had them 3-39 after 11,
4-51 at the 1st drinks break & 6-134 after the 2nd drinks break.
Unfortunately Shaeed was still in & despite having a dodgy back, he was
looking strong hitting one bad ball an over for 4. We had a chance to run him
out for 0. Ledge's shy at the sumps missed by centimeters, Hoggy couldn't hang
onto a sharp chance at mid wicket when he was about 50. If either of these had
gone our way, maybe we would have been chasing 130 or 180 & things may have
been different. Instead, he got on top, we didn't bowl well & they took 96
off the last 14.5 overs. Shaeed finally out for a very impressive 105, his last
50 from 26 balls. He was the only batsman to get more than 50 against us all
year.
Our batting, well the least said the better. You can look at the scorecard if you want a laugh. 2 run outs & a questionable caught behind & LBW didn't help but apart from that, we placed no value on wickets a poor shots were played.
So Greenies One finish the League 2nd. A massive improvement from coming last a season ago. The final standings are attached.
Thanks - A massive thanks to the huge number of people who came out to watch, a record crowd & a record number of cases, sorry we couldn't provide a better spectacle.
